Through the Volunteer Income Tax (VITA) Program, you can receive FREE income tax preparation. VITA assists working individuals & families to take advantage of all the tax credits that are available including the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), the Child Tax Credit (CTC) and several other credits.
Last year over $1.9 million dollars was returned to the pockets of residents in Beaufort County! Almost two million dollars back into the bank accounts of working individuals and families right here in our community. Money to help cover the cost of clothes, medicine, food, school supplies, utility payments, and house payments.
Individuals and families can qualify for an additional $450 to over $5600!!
All sites will be open mid to late January 2013 except for the Franciscan Center which will open the first week in February.

         - Pension and social security statements - Form(s) 1099R and SSA-1099

         - Tuition payments statements - Form(s) 1098-T

         - Property tax receipt(s) for any property taxes paid

  • Copies of Social Security Card(s)

Volunteering for VITA

If you would like to become a VITA volunteer tax preparer please send us an email.  Unfortunately, it is too late to train you for the 2013 tax season but we will start training for the 2014 season next fall.
